Artist of the Month: April 2023
Juliana Laury
Juliana is an artist mother to three little boys, balancing home life in Pottstown and studio life in Phoenixville, PA. Art is therapy for Juliana, and you will find her multi-passionate portfolio is ever evolving. She currently balances her love for the written word with a physical art medium called encaustic. Encaustic wax is a mixture of beeswax and resin, and is traditionally used as a painting medium, however Juliana pours it into hoops and frames to create one of a kind floral daydreams. Her written work comes in 3 forms: poetry, novel, and podcasting. Juliana’s poetry is an outlet for the frustrations of domestic life, her novel is a “magical realism work-in-progress” tentatively titled "The Archivist", and her podcast called "Flow" chronicles her journey as an aspiring author and young mother. Juliana has also been a professional photographer for nearly a decade and graduated from Tyler School of Art with a BFA in 2013.
